Word on the street is now that layoffs outside editorial will be the 27th.
Lovely.
At least that's pay day.

Just sayin'.

If I get laid off tomorrow, which is possible/somewhat likely, I'll be looking for a job both here and in SF, as was my original plan that I got distracted from when I moved here and realized the weather was a non-topic and there were jobs that had nothing to do with healthcare or law.
First city to make the best offer wins.
This should be interesting.

It's been ***10 YEARS*** since that last Project Pitchfork tour? Oh...my god. I mean...I ...I'm sorry, I have to go have a life crisis now.

Indie's dead. Long live El Zol?
Jan. 15th, 2009 | 12:49 pm
Metromix in print is being canned, now this:
Indie becomes Mexican Ooompah station
What a week. Hey DC... sound familiar? BASTARDS!
Indie 103.1 goes off the air
Kevin Roderick • Bio • Email
Entravision has replaced the popular-in-some-quarters FM station with regional Mexican rhythmic and cumbia music. Michael Schneider at Franklin Avenue blogs some details, and a posting at the station website says 103.1 will live on via the Internet:
Indie 103.1 will cease broadcasting over this frequency effective immediately. Because of changes in the radio industry and the way radio audiences are measured, stations in this market are being forced to play too much Britney, Puffy and alternative music that is neither new nor cutting edge. Due to these challenges, Indie 103.1 was recently faced with only one option --- to play the corporate radio game.
We have decided not to play that game any longer. Rather than changing the sound, spirit, and soul of what has made Indie 103.1 great Indie 103.1 will bid farewell to the terrestrial airwaves and take an alternative course.
This could only be done on the Internet, a place where rules do not apply and where new music thrives; be it grunge, punk, or alternative simply put, only the best music.

Poll
Jan. 12th, 2009 | 02:04 pm
My seemingly increasing need to remember stuff as I leave for work each day (&%!#@&) has gotten me wondering—for those of you with the same schedule/workplace most days of the week, what is crucial to your daily survival at your desk/place of work?
My current list (this changes with my strange obsessions/phases):
-Dentyne Peppermint gum
-Claritin-D, (the high-octane, show-your-id for it shit)
-hair tie
-pre-mixed met-rx chocolate protein shake
-lunch/afternoon snack
-chapstick
then the obvious, non-office-specific:
-sunglasses/ipod/wallet/phone
-flats, if wearing precarious heels
-sweater/hoodie, usually
...What's your OCD morning list?
